Over 50 people ransacked a movie theatre today (Sunday) for screening the Hrithik Roshan and Aishwarya Rai Bachchan starrer 'Jodhaa Akbar' in Orissa's steel city Rourkela.

Although groups like the Bajrang Dal and the Vishwa Hindu Parishad earlier warned the cinema hall owners across the state not to screen the film because they alleged it distorted historical facts, the film was being screened at the Apsara Talkies in Rourkela since Friday.

A group of people calling themselves activists of Bajrang Dal entered the hall during the afternoon show. They asked the audience to vacate the hall and then broke several chairs, tore down the movie screen and forced the operator to stop the movie. They also set fire to some posters outside the hall he added.

The police rushed to the spot and detained two persons.

As is well known, Ashutosh Gowariker's 'Jodhaa Akbar' has been facing the ire of some radical groups across the country.
