Actor Raghuvaran Of ´Shiva´ And ´Anjali´ Fame Is No More

Veteran actor Raghuvaran passed away at a hospital in Chennai early today (Wednesday) morning following a brief illness. Raghuvaran, 49, is survived by his ex-wife and son. He was admitted to a private hospital following an ailment about a week back. His funeral will be held this evening, family sources said.

Raghuvaran was married to actress Rohini. However, their marriage was a short lived one and ended in divorce.

He acted in more than 80 films in Tamil and Malayalam and had bagged many awards, including the Tamil Nadu government's 'Kalaimamani' award and best character artiste award.

He had acted with all top actors, including superstar Rajnikanth and Kamal Hassan.

The actor had carved a niche for himself with his special style and voice modulation.

Apart from 'Shiva'(1989) and 'Anjali'(1990), the late Raghuvaran was last seen in Madhavan's 'Run' (2002) and Rajnikanth's blockbuster 'Sivaji' (2007).
