Kathryn Bigelow's Iraq war drama, 'Hurt Locker' which swept the Academy awards this year with six trophies, is all set to hit theatres in India on April 9.

The film, which beat James Cameron's 'Avatar' to win Oscar for Best Film and Best Director at the Oscars on March 7, is being released in India by Multivision Multimedia Pvt Ltd.

"After winning 6 Oscars, 6 BAFTAs and countless other awards, I am sure 'The Hurt Locker' will be a treat for the Indian audiences too. I am glad that the film is coming backed up with so much appreciation and awards otherwise in most of the cases, small films don't get much of attention even if it is a wonderful cinema," Ajay Gupta, Director, Multivision Multimedia (India) Pvt Ltd told PTI.
