Cricket and Bollywood are inseparable in more ways than one. A sub-story in Ekta Kapoor's forthcoming comedy 'Shor In The City' highlights Indian cricket's darkest chapter - bribery. One of the three tracks in 'Shor In The City' has been reportedly inspired by a 2003 incident that grabbed headlines when cricketer Abhijit Kale was accused of offering bribes to national selectors Kiran More and Pranab Roy.
Raj Nidimoru, co-director of the film, says, "This particular track in the film draws inspiration from various incidents that we read about in newspapers. This includes all the major cricket controversies since 1999: match-fixing, betting and bribery, to name a few. But everything has been fictionalised." 'Shor In The City' releases on April 28.
