The release of Sameer Dattan's 'Mukhbiir' has been facing one or the other problem. First, Pritish Nandy threatened to stall its release till its director, Mani Shankar, did not return him the signing amount he had taken to make a film for him. That matter got resolved when Mani returned the money.

The release was then scheduled for 11th July but it had to be cancelled at the last moment when multiplexes, especially PVR and Adlabs, could not accommodate the film as their 'Jaane Tu… Ya Jaane Na' (PVR) and 'Love Story 2050' (Adlabs) were given the best shows.

The film was postponed to 1st August but once again, it will not hit the screens on that day. This time, the postponement has been necessitated because of a dispute over money matters between the producer (Sudhish Rambhotla) and the director (Mani Shankar). Why, Mani Shankar even dragged the producer to court. But the good news is that the dispute was amicably settled on 25th July.

Pyramid Saimira, the all-India distributor of 'Mukhbiir', must have finally heaved a sigh of relief. It is now trying to fix the release on 29th August.
