Filmmaker Ramgopal Varma has terminated the MoU (Memorendum of Understanding) of 13th June 2006, which his company had entered into with Super Cassettes Industries Ltd., for assignment of the audio and home video rights of 14 films mentioned in the MoU, including 'Sarkar Raaj', 'Ram Gopal Varma Ki Aag' and others.

The notice mentions that the agreement was terminated on 14th November 2007, for breach of various provisions and industry norms by Super Cassettes. Ramgopal Varma has similarly clarified that the 'Sarkar' concept and story belonged to him and that 'Sarkar Raaj' was an independent film.

The above mentioned clarifications by Ramgopal Varma assume significance in view of the fact that K Sera Sera has sought a stay on 'Sarkar Raj', stating that the concept and sequel rights of 'Sarkar' vested with it.

As may be recalled, the 2005 superhit 'Sarkar', featuring Amitabh and Abhishek Bachchan was produced by Ramu and K Sera Sera jointly.
