London, Dec 23 (PTI) Legendary Hollywood actor Marlon Brando, who immortalised the character of Vito Corleone in 'Godfather', reportedly tried to get a job as a daytime TV presenter shortly before his death. Brando apparently wanted the job to boost his flagging bank balance. The actor's former assistant has said that Brando also contemplated selling goods on US home shopping channel QVC in 2000 because he had only USD 9,000 left in his account.
"Marlon was serious about QVC. He had a meeting with a woman from the channel," Brando's aide Alice Marchak writes in a new book. Marlon Brando died of respiratory failure in 2004 at the age of 80.
