As the title suggests, this one’s a franchise of the cult romantic film of the year 1990 which had chartbuster music to boast of.
Will director Mohit Suri be able to re-create the magic of the original ?.
“The title ‘AASHIQUI 2’ is adding up to Number 21 – this octave of Number 3 (Jupiter) is symbolized by the picture of ‘the universe’, also called ‘the crown of the Magi’. It is a number of advancement, honours, elevation in life and general success. It means victory, but gained only after long initiation and tests of determination. It is a fortunate number of promises if it appears in connection with future events; however one must be prepared for the long fight” explains Bhavikk.
“Going purely by its numerological interpretation and the meaning derived, it seems the second part in the series will appeal to its target audience which will mainly be the youth especially in the urban centres and that’s about it” predicts Bhavikk.
“But, the release date of the film 26th April 2013 is a day primarily ruled by Number 8 (Saturn) and the year 2013 which adds up to Number 6 (Venus) is likely to prove lucky for most Number 3, 6, 8 and 9 people, places, dates, names etc. Plus, currently the Sun is in the zodiac sign of Taurus which is ruled by Venus – the planet of love, peace, sex and harmony and that shall help the film to a certain limit” he adds.
“Talking of performances, the 1990 film made Rahul Roy and Anu Agarwal in to over-night stars. In this case, actor Aditya Roy Kapur (16th November 1985) in his 28th year will be well appreciated for his performance whereas Shraddha Kapoor (3rd March 1989) being a Number 3 person directly and in her 24th year is tend to benefit more” he adds further.
“As for their pairing, they make for a good on-screen couple, but that sensation and the chemistry will simply be missing this time” he adds.
“Director Mohit Suri (11th April 1981) who seems to have just entered his 33rd year is passing through a decent phase and will somewhat succeed in showcasing the much required passion in this love story, but not to a great extent”.
“Last but not the least, producer Mukesh Bhatt’s (5th June 1952) ‘stars’ (read luck) in his 61st year is just about average and that shall make the film reach a safety mark at best” signs off Bhavikk on a somber note.
