Rakkhosh, India’s first POV film where the camera is the hero for the first time in Indian cinema, has been chosen for the Pune International Film Festival (PIFF), the Rajasthan International Film Festival (RIFF) and the Orange City International Film Festival (OCIFF) to be held between January and February.

The film is based on a Marathi Language short story Patient No. 302 by Late Shri Narayan Dharap. He who is a well-known writer in Marathi Literature in horror genre, on whose another story Tumbbad was based.

Srivinay Salian adapted the story for the big screen before handling the direction during the post production of the film. Rakkhosh has been produced by Santosh and Sayali Deshpande, directed by Srivinay Salian and Abhijit Kokate with Prashen Kyawal being the Creative Producer.

Rakkhosh is a first-person POV of a schizophrenic person and stars Sanjay Mishra, Tannishtha Chatterjee, Priyanka Bose, Barun Chanda and Namit Das among others. Namit Das of Sumit Sab Sambhal Lega, Pataakha and Sui Dhaaga fame has lent the voice to the character, Birsa, from whose POV the film is.

The film has been shot by a French DOP Basile Pierrat who had done one music video named Varanasi in POV treatment. Till now most of the films used POV partially or are of found footage genre. The first Complete POV film in the world Hard Core Henry was shot as a first person shootout gameplay. All POV films are shot via small cameras are go-pro till now. For the first time we used a proper cinema camera (Red Dragon 6K) to shoot the POV. We had to create a custom POV rig for Red camera 1st time in India and maybe the second time in the world.
